General Guidelines:

Our installation suggestions and examples are commonly accepted proposals. Any out of the ordinary styles of construction due to local circumstances must be authorised by the planning body. The basic technical rules and guidelines generally accepted among experts should be taken into consideration during installation.

-

    1. BG drainage channels are installed on an earth-moist foundation and attention must be paid to the gradient of the channels in the excavation. (For details see table of installation examples and profiles).

    2. The butt joints between the individual channel bodies can be sealed or caulked with appropriate sealing materials.

    3. During the construction period or before manufacture of the adjacent ground coating a construction period cover must be inserted into the slot top. Then the roadway must be constructed dependent on the field of application (see installation details). When compacting the substructure and roadway ensure that the channels are not damaged.

    4. Where horizontal forces occur (e.g. in concrete surfaces) a running joint must be created in the area of the roadway junction, at a distance of max. 200 cm from the channel.

    5. All adjacent coating surfaces should permanently run approx. 3-5 mm higher than the surfaces of the slot tops.
    6. In areas susceptible to chemical attacks (e.g. deicing agents, acids, alkalis, etc.) we recommend the installation of stainless steel slot tops.

    7. These same installation guidelines analogously apply to inspection shafts in conjunction with the gullies.

    8. EN 1433 is also a general guideline for production and workmanship.
